For Kenny Kunene there’s no compromise when it comes to having the best – and that’s exactly what new wife Nonkululeko and baby Remo got at their latest celebration

HE ISN ’T one to do things by halves, so it stands to reason the newest addition to his family will have only the best – and that means Hugo Boss feeding bottles, top of-the-range luxury strollers and a designer wardrobe to rival the threads worn by the offspring of the hottest Hollywood celebrities.

But Kenny Kunene will have you know his over-the-top lifestyle of sushi parties and near-naked models is a thing of the past. He’s too busy singing lullabies and mastering nappy duty – and he’s loving every minute of it.

It seems flashy, controversial and opinionated Kenny (46) has officially been tamed – and by a two-month-old baby boy, no less.

The So What: Big Money, Big Dreams reality-TV star and his new wife, Nonkululeko Whitney Mhlanga (22), welcomed baby Remo Kunene in May, and the businessman admits that the experience has been life changing.

And to celebrate the baby’s birth, Kenny threw a party at his homestead in Kutlwanong in the Free State.

The party was more conservative than the extravagant 40th birthday Kenny threw for himself in 2010, which earned him his “sushi king” nickname.

But that doesn’t mean this celebration was modest. It was attended by over 500 guests, and was a combined event that incorporated a ceremony to officially welcome his wife into the family.

It took two weeks to put it all together, Kenny tells us. “I did everything but I was guided by the elders. Remember, when we did the traditional wedding at my wife’s home [in March], she was still pregnant. She couldn’t travel to the Free State the next day. So we decided to wait until she had delivered before we finalised things on my side of family.”

The elders wanted them to do things the right way, he adds.
