He’s in court on a rape charge but Brickz’s sexual activities, revealed by his fiancée, have shocked many.
HE’D sent his daughter to live with his cousin, thinking it was one of the best things he could do to secure a good future for her. After all, his cousin showed interest in the child’s education and he believed his daughter would benefit from the family’s kindness.
But now Patrick Makhoba* is sitting in the Roodepoort magistrate’s court, listening to details unfolding about how his daughter was allegedly raped. And the accused standing in the dock is his cousin – Sipho “Brickz” Ndlovu.
He could hardly believe it when he heard Brickz was accused of rape, Patrick tells us. The musician was considered a stand-up guy who’d made it big on Mzansi’s music scene and was a providing father.
But now Brickz, who shot to fame in 2005 with his award-winning hit Sweety My Baby, stands accused of raping his niece, Nomsa*.
Patrick was pleased when Brickz showed an interest in Nomsa’s education, and packed her off to the Ruimsig home Brickz shared with his fiancée, Nqobile Gamede.
He couldn’t have imagined what he’d one day hear allegedly went on in their home. Steamy s e x on the couch, pros titutes who were booked online as birthday gifts and threesomes with friends were just some of the shocking revelations made by Nqobile in court.
Patrick, who attends the proceedings daily to support Nomsa, says he has no hard feelings towards her. “We are fine with Nqobile.”
