The Stage Is Set
Hertfordshire Life|December 2017

Laugh, sing, boo, shout and cheer, it’s the time of year to let it all out at a festive family show. We’ve gathered 21 of the best pantos and Christmas shows in and around Herts

The Stage Is Set

JACK & THE BEANSTALK, EDMONTON

Join Jack and his mum Dame Trott as they face the dastardly Fleshcreep for this giant of a pantomime. Add in the craziness of Simple Simon, the magic of Fairy Deluxe and the cow-ness of Buttercup and you’ve got all the ingredients for a fun-packed show.

JACK & THE BEANSTALK, CAMBRIDGE

Tony Is this the way to Amarillo? Christie stars alongside Coronation Street’s Stephen Beckett and Bergerac’s Liza Goddard in this production by the team that put on last year’s smash Dick Whittington at the Arts Theatre. They promise songs, laughter, joy and magic.

SANTA CLAUS & THE CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE, WATFORD

Rudolph is missing and the elves are misbehaving and time is running out to deliver all those presents. With songs, nursery rhymes and a snowfall over the audience, this will guarantee a white Christmas.

JACK & THE BEANSTALK, STEVENAGE

Join Jack on the Adventure of a lifetime as he bounds up the beanstalk for lots of fee-fi-fofun. Starring Cliff Parisi (Call the Midwife), X-Factor’s Melanie Masson, Aiden O’Neill and Stevenage’s favourite dame, Paul Laidlaw. With a stomping giant and all the magic and mayhem of a traditional Christmas extravaganza.

ALADDIN, WATFORD

This festive treat features live music, dazzling sets and costumes and, of course, a panda. Aladdin dreams of musical fame but he’s in danger of falling into the clutches of the evil Norwegian pop mogul Sven Gali. Starring Palace pantomime favourites Dame Terence Frisch and Jill McAusland.
