WE FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE AWESOME FOURSOME KNOWN AS DNCE, DIRECT FROM KOREA!

Bryan Yeong
Taking The Cake

Forget Joe Jonas from his fresh faced JoBro days, and meet the DNCE frontman who now sports daring buzz-cuts and forward fashion. The pop-funk band also boasts equally compelling members – bewilderingly stylish bassist Cole Whittle (he’s wearing three different colored watches!), guitarist JinJoo Lee, a far cry from typical K-pop stars with her glam-rock style, and drummer Jack Lawless, channelling super chill surfer dude vibes. They may look peculiar as individuals, but together they make perfect sense, as proven by their success with 2015’s ‘Cake By The Ocean’ and current radio hit ‘Kissing Strangers’ featuring Nicki Minaj.

On K-pop music:

JOE: “We knew a couple of bands beforehand. We watched them on television, enjoyed listening to their songs and learning so much more.”

JINJOO: “If we had to collaborate with a K-pop act, I’m gonna have to say, I really like G-Dragon.”

JOE: “‘Crayon’ [by G-Dragon] is my jam!”

On having breaks in between work:

JINJOO: “We hate it!”

COLE: “We don’t like it because we don’t feel right when we’re apart.”

On JinJoo being an inspiration:

JINJOO: “Wow, thank you! Well, I’m just a girl with a dream and it’s happening. I wish that my life shows young girls that they can do it too.”

On how Jack maintains his long-distance relationship:
