<div style="page-break-before:always; page-break-after:always"><p id="1">And as Copping tells TG: &ldquo;We&rsquo;re very optimistic that it goes ahead.&rdquo; This is a man who has lived and breathed rock music since he was a kid. He attended the very first Monsters Of Rock festival in 1980, and having co-founded Download at the same venue, Donnington Park, in 2003, he says without exaggeration: &ldquo;Live music is my life.&rdquo; Copping was not alone in facing huge challenges in 2020. &ldquo;The live industry, arts and entertainment, we&rsquo;ve all had a big kicking,&rdquo; he says.</p><div style="page-break-before:always; page-break-after:always"><p id="4">But with a new year comes new hope. &ldquo;There&rsquo;s a light at the end of a dark tunnel,&rdquo; he says. &ldquo;The vaccine&rsquo;s here, so hopefully we can get back to some kind of normality. The fans are chomping at the bit to get out there. The bands are of the same mind. So we&rsquo;re going ahead with business as usual. And having been through all that we&rsquo;ve been through, it&rsquo;s great that things are moving in a positive direction.&rdquo; As Copping proudly says: &ldquo;There&rsquo;s a special atmosphere about Download, just as there was with Monsters Of Rock.&rdquo;</p><p id="5">This photo, from Download 2004, speaks volumes.</p>
