One of Bryan Adams&rsquo; greatest hits, Run To You was released in 1984 from his fourth album, Reckless. It was originally recorded with a capo on the guitar&rsquo;s 2nd fret raising the pitch from E to F# minor. Rockschool&rsquo;s arrangement is an easy Grade 1 version, however, and is played in the open position, capo-free, so that anyone can jam along.A key feature of the main riff in Run To You is that the open fourth string is used in every chord. Bar 6 is probably the most defining moment: the semitone intervals like the C# and D notes found here often clash, but it sounds sweet as part of an Aadd11 chord. Fret the G note with your second finger and the B with your first finger then move up two frets in order to play the next chord.Notice the picking directions below bars 1 and 2. This is how Bryan Adams generally plays the line, but you could always use down-up-down-up style &lsquo;alternate&rsquo; picking if you prefer.
