A new documentary uncovers the truth behind the real story of The Great Escape
An act of BRAVERY

Shown over three nights this week, a new documentary series tells the true story of the audacious World War Two breakout when 76 Allied prisoners of war tunneled out of the Nazi prison camp Stalag Luft III in 1944. This tale was made into the famous 1963 film called The Great Escape.

It was masterminded by RAF airman Roger Bushell, who’d been captured on his first day in combat. But he remained determined to make his mark on the war.

Mastermind… The real Roger Bushell
