Just cuddling a baby orangutan is the bucketlist territory for most of us, but Gary Shapiro was lucky enough to parent an orphaned baby orangutan called Princess in Borneo!
Gary was a zoology student doing research on orangutans back in 1978 when Princess moved into his hut after her mum was killed by poachers. What followed was a two-year relationship, which is told in this week’s episode of My Wild Animal Baby.
