Two months have passed since Vanessa Woodfield discovered she has bowel cancer and, this week, the vet has her first chemotherapy session.

Finding the constant fussing by her fiancée Charity Dingle too much, she decides to go to the hospital alone.

‘Charity is afraid of Vanessa dying,’ explains Michelle Hardwick, who plays the vet. ‘She’s scared because this is beyond her control and she can’t fix this. It causes conflict between them and Vanessa is feeling smothered.’
