THEY’RE rather like Australia’s answer to the Brontë sisters.
Liane (55), Jaclyn (53) and Nicola Moriarty (40) are all successful authors, which means people often assume there must be some sort of intense sibling rivalry between the trio – yet nothing could be further from the truth, Liane tells us.
“The only time it’s frustrating is when we compete for family anecdotes that we want to use in our novels,” the Big Little Lies author jokes.
“But it’s wonderful to have family members working in the same industry because we can rely on one another for support, sympathy and advice.”
In fact it was Jaclyn who provided Liane with the inspiration for her latest novel, Apples Never Fall.
“I asked her to send me a writing prompt. She obligingly texted a few sentences describing an abandoned bike lying on the side of the road next to some apples that had spilled from the bike’s basket.
“That scene appears on the opening pages,” Liane says.
