(Un)blurred Lines

The starting point and inspiration for lignes sensibles, Hermès’ latest jewellery collection, may seem equivocal, but its intention is clear — to lend a sense of movement and express freedom

(Un)blurred Lines

As an artist and dancer at heart, Pierre Hardy has the special ability to translate an innate understanding of art and movement into the most precious of materials. During the 20 years that he has been the creative director of Hermès’ jewellery, the Frenchman has been responsible for some of the brand’s most extraordinary offerings — fluid, sculpted, intimate works of wearable art.

At the heart of every collection is a distinctive and stylistic choice of expression that is quintessentially Hermès — one that starts from an unassuming line, a simple shape, an unremarkable form. In the hands of Hardy, all these miraculously turn into dynamic creations, wrought out of precious metal and gemstones, with curves and volumes that reflect light and invite the wearer to indulge in sensual enjoyment.

In its latest high jewellery instalment, Lignes Sensibles, the collection showcases pieces that do more than merely sit on the skin. Instead, they form a “language” that accompanies one’s movement. In this collection, expect nothing less than a necklace that drapes like a second skin, enveloping the neck, or an array of harmonious gemstones that wrap around the wrist or finger. Here, Hardy shares more about the inspiration of the collection, as well as the one-piece that stole the show.

This collection is driven by patterns — inspired by circuits, grids and lines. Are you offering a pathway through life?
