Designer and founder of VIVIERS Lezanne Viviers talks spaces, self and going against the grain.
How did VIVIERS come into fruition?
Saturn returned, and I gave birth to my sense of self. It was a cyclical process of metamorphosis. Lotus House found us and set the stage for us to swim against what we believe mainstream palatability is. It’s always the right time to be introspective, to get out of your own head in order to observe yourself and to become more aware of the self. The self forms part of a variety of trees that have been growing, seeding, flowering and are now throwing at us colourful fruits like pomegranates.
I’m busy moving into and through a space that serves as a multidisciplinary environment for artists who are picking and planting fruit and watering their existing trees. Lotus House, my studio, showroom and a home for kindred spirits, is where I see and manifest my future and purpose. It’s where we plant new seeds.
Our brand isn’t confined to one box alone; we’re the sum of our parts.
Can you talk us through VIVIERS’ debut collection, Unfold?
