Your Day-by-Day Breakup Tool Kit

No matter the circumstances or whose decision it was, your world has just been rocked, and it's hard to know how to move forward.

But that heartache you feel right now? It eventually fades away. We know it's hard to believe...especially if your 'ship just split or you got dumped out of nowhere (sending hugs, btw). Yes, the old "time heals" saying is true-but it doesn't exactly make you feel better in the moment.

"You have to move through your feelings to get to the other side," says psychologist Dr. Rayne Palombit. "Being sad is part of the process, but it does get easier as days go on."

Though we can't be there to make brownies and binge Netflix with you IRL, behold our step-by-step guide to healing heartache with patience and compassion so you can survive (and thrive!) in your post-relationship universe.

DAY 1

TOOL: YOUR CREW + COMFORT FOOD

Your breakup just happened-and whether you're reeling with confusion, piecing together what happened or just feeling all of the emotions, now's the time to surround yourself with love and good vibes. Gather your besties (or your mom, sis or anyone who will 100% support you) plus a pan of your grandma's famous lasagna for a night of marathoning your fave movies, crying and venting.

DAY 2

TOOL: A LIST OF THINGS YOU LOVE
