SHEFALI SHAH
ACTOR
Shefali Shah is currently enjoying one of her best years as an actor. While her turn as a tough-as-nails cop in the International Emmy Award-winning series Delhi Crime (2019) turned the tables, she followed it up with another stellar turn this year in the web show and medical thriller Human, which is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Let's just say that she owns the scenes she is in. In Jalsa, her portrayal of a house help who seeks justice after her daughter's death is nuanced and powerful. In an infamously ageist industry, Shah has blazed a trail for women over 40. She may not have a very long résumé, but she does have a strong one.

Kabir Khan's feel-good, slice-of-life films, like Kabul Express, Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Tubelight, have cemented his position as one of the most prolific directors in Bollywood today. And with his latest offering, the Ranveer Singh-starrer, 83, Khan manages to band the entire nation together to relive India's historic win in the 1983 cricket world cup, when the Kapil Dev-led team beat West Indies in the final.
