Cara Delevingne takes a walk on the wild side for taG Heuer’s latest campaign
There are only a few seconds to get the shot. She darts out of the metal cage and crouches down on the floor, immediately sending her piercing gaze toward the lens of the camera. Behind her, a majestic beast slowly closes in. It would only take the lion one easy pounce to reach her, but Cara remains steady. She holds the pose and focuses straight ahead with nary a flinch.
No special effects here. According to the photographer David Yarrow, who is known for his images of wildlife, barely 5 metres separated his two subjects. But the gallant model and actress never once wavered. The result is the powerful visual for TAG Heuer’s newest Don’t Crack Under Pressure campaign, in which Cara’s fearlessness carries the disruptive, avant-garde spirit of the Swiss watchmaker. Between her soul-piercing stare and the lion’s spine-chilling snarl, there’s an intensity in the image that’s undeniably gripping.
