Experiencing the Richard Mille lifestyle first-hand, L’Officiel set out to the gardens of the breathtaking Château de Chantilly for a weekend of glorious cars and plenty of excitement.
Set on the ground of the picturesque Domaine de Chantilly, I later learned that this fourth installment of the annual car show generously supported by Richard Mille, namely Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille, eclipsed the previous three with over 16,000 visitors and 90 classic cars competing in the Concours d’Etat and close to 800 in the Grand Prix des Clubs. As it was my first time attending the prestigious, high-status event, I couldn’t help but wonder: What do an automobile show and a luxury Swiss watch brand have in common?
Upon researching the connection, I stumbled upon these quotes that helped to answer my question. When once asked about the relationship between Chantilly Arts & Elegance and Richard Mille, Peter Auto founder Patrick Peter explained: “By presenting rare cars that are in pristine condition under truly exceptional conditions, we make a concerted effort to provide an unparalleled experience here. At the Domaine de Chantilly, we thoughtfully showcase the various aspects of the French art de vivre – through fashion, gastronomy, wine, painting, horsemanship and more. We aspire to the same level of exactingness as Richard Mille, creator of watches that offers extreme quality and performance at both the technical and aesthetic levels.”
