Diamonds – when executed tastefully – are just as appropriate for a suit-and-tie combination as it is for cocktail dresses. Patek Philippe’s update to the diamond-set Aquanaut Luce ref. 5267/200A-001 is elegant yet restrained with its 48 round-cut Top Wesselton Pure diamonds (~1.11ct) blending into the hue of its stainless steel case. A slight recess to the bejeweled bezel further reinforces its subtleness. Though the Aquanaut Luce was introduced as a ladies watch, the enlargement of the watch diameter to 38.8mm from 35.6 mm blurs the lines of gender-specific watches. The Aquanaut Luce is equally at home on any gender’s wrist with its blend of sportiness and refinement. White-gold baton hands and applied Arabic numerals juxtaposes against its Aquanaut embossed black dial paired with an integrated strap made of an ultra-resistant composite material. Patek Philippe’s calibre E 23-250 S C quartz movement with a sweep seconds hand powers the Aquanaut Luce, finished to the exacting standards deemed worthy by the Genevan manufacture.
