Lars Schmidt is Thomas Sabo’s recently appointed Asia sales director and he’s one of the driving force of the brand’s retail strategy in the region.
What’s your role in Thomas Sabo?
I’m here to enhance the visibility and accessibility of Thomas Sabo in this part of the world. The brand is well established in Europe since 1984. Our founder, Thomas Sabo, started with the store in Frankfurt and he grew the brand from there. Today, we are operating more than 200 shops in Europe. We’re not at the stage yet in Asia but we do know a lot of people appreciate the brand and its offerings. One look and you’ll know that an item is a Thomas Sabo product. We rarely had to rely on explicit branding to get our products noticed. Precision in craftsmanship and the use of technological improvements in the manufacturing process is also what keeps us constantly innovating.
