BACK TO THE SLOPES

After two long years, we return to the States for the ski scene we've been missing
BACK TO THE SLOPES

DESTINATION

STEAMBOAT, Colorado

At Steamboat Ski Resort, there is a unique texture of powder dusting the mountain known as "champagne snow". The low water content - at just six percent - makes the snow effervescent and fluffy, laying the foundations for grand cru ski conditions. With a gondola ferrying skiers and snowboarders from the base to mid-mountain, 18 lifts, and 165 trails, there are endless adventures to be had. Lodgings include luxurious ski-in, ski-out homes with fireplaces and hot tubs, such as Ski Trail Lodge, or try the homes at One Steamboat Place. There are also simpler accommodations for those more focused on the action. At the base of the mountain, the Steamboat Mountain Village has lots of casual places to eat, drink and catch some live music most afternoons. Located at the top of the gondola, on the third floor of the Thunderhead building, is the Oasis Sundeck. It's the best place for lunch with a view of the Yampa Valley, while regaling your group with stories of your skiing prowess. Visit steamboat.com.

DO

After so much time away from the slopes, waking up tired and sore is inevitable. An escape to Strawberry Park Hot Springs is a balm for weary muscles. Book a massage and a shuttle for private access. Visit strawberryhotsprings.com.

STAY

One Steamboat Place is a group of privately owned chalets for hire just a few steps from the gondola, with shared resort facilities catering to your every alpine fantasy - including private chefs. Visit onesteamboatplacerentals.com.
