Grab a nice pear

A NICE pear has flesh that completely dissolves in the mouth, trickling sweet syrup of exquisite aroma down one’s throat. If you’ve not had a pear that epic, then you cannot know what you have missed.

You see, many of us habitually eat a pear as if it were a crunchy apple, albeit with a slightly different taste. (Indeed, some commercial apples and pears are near indistinguishable.) However, as gardeners, we need not suffer mediocre pears for we can grow (and ripen) much, much better.
