01 SPRINGVALE COMMUNITY HUB, VICTORIA
The Springvale Community Hub incorporates a large library and series of civic spaces set within a playful parkland, mirroring the culturally diverse population and urban context. Completed in 2020, the project boasts a 6-star Green Star Plus rating and Net Zero Operational Emissions. “We won the design competition to design a community hub that reflects and supports the diverse immigrant community of Springvale now and well into the future,” says James Wilson, director of Melbourne0based architecture firm Lyons. “The result is a project that exceeds sustainability standards and celebrates the cultural fabric of the suburb from every angle.” Photography by John Gollings. lyonsarch.com.au
