JUNGLE FEVER

The bathroom shouldn’t be a forgotten spot in your home, it’s a room in its own right and deserves a lot of attention. Too often we see beautifully decorated living rooms and bedrooms but bathrooms are sometimes not at the top of the list. It’s time to embrace the space, and there’s plenty you can do. Be brave with walls. For instance, go for a mural or storytelling wallpaper like William Holland has (above) or pair with a geometric tile on the floor and a luxurious copper bath for a hotel feel. You might not be soaking in an open-air pool, but you’ll feel like you are. Bolster the theme with plenty of plant life and brightly coloured accessories. William Holland has picked out a sunset yellow from the mural and matched the towels accordingly.

ON THE TILES

“Bathrooms need to be considered as a whole; choosing tiles is just as important as deciding which sanitaryware to go for. Tiles are incredibly versatile, as they’re hardwearing, come in lots of colours and can mimic wood, stone and metal. Porcelain is currently our most popular material, as it can be used on both floors and walls.

Different tile materials and finishes offer different practicalities. Matt finishes generally offer more grip than polished surfaces, but bushhammered tiles have the most texture. Light, muted tones continue to be the most popular. Industrial, concrete looks are also on trend, while wooden inspired tiles are a staple choice, complementing modern and traditional bathrooms.

When working with compact bathrooms, we recommend large format tiles. Fewer grout lines give walls and floors continuity, creating the illusion of a much larger room.”
