It was love at first sight for artist Annie Everingham, who had eyes for this Spanish Mission-style bungalow years before it even hiu the market. Now, she and her husband have made it their own

Dining in Annie and husband Chris had easy access to furniture suppliers thanks to their property styling and hire business Mode Hire. They opted for a table from GlobeWest paired with MRD Home dining chairs and a vintage Turkish rug. The large framed artwork is one of Annie's pieces, as is the fish artwork in the background kitchen. The pink piece is by Prudence Caroline.

Instant appeal Annie was smitten with the house (opposite) the moment she spotted it on a walk one day.

ANNIE EVERINGHAM WAS living in the northwestern suburbs of Newcastle, NSW with her husband Chris when she walked past her future family home one day. “I just fell in love with it," Annie recalls. "It was just so unusual, and it had so much character – from the Spanish-style garden to spiral columns, it just really drew us in." Two years later, it was theirs. “It just happened to be put on the market exactly the same week we started looking to buy together," she says. "It needed a lot of love, but at the same time, you could tell it had been well looked after and loved by the various families that lived here." Renovating was always part of the plan, but they lived in the home for two years before picking up the tools.
