Serene Tan and Benjamin Kim’s new home celebrates their love of entertaining—the couple share why the open-plan kitchen is among their favourite spaces in their abode

It was “love at first sight” for Serene Tan and Benjamin Kim when they saw the Arclinea Convivium kitchen system. Clad in stainless steel and light wood, and installed in their open-plan dry kitchen, it caters to the amicable couple’s frequent gatherings with family and friends, as well as their new-found interest in coffee brewing. “We love the clean-lined look and modern industrial elements [of this kitchen]; we thought it’s the perfect fit for our home,” shares Kim.

Taking a year to complete, the recent renovation of their abode at Singapore’s Sentosa Cove was completed in collaboration with homegrown design studio The Interior Lab, landscaping firm Midori Works, and local retailer Space Furniture. Kim explains: “We wanted to make sure that the home revolved around our lifestyle. We spent quite a lot of time trying to envisage how we wanted our daily flow to be, to make it work for us.”
