Last year, Porsche Centres from across the country were invited to take part in the Porsche Classic Restoracing Competition
The competition involves locating and fully restoring a first-generation Porsche 986 Boxster S and then racing the car in a dedicated three-round championship against other participating Porsche Centres. Now, ten months on from finding our 2000 registration Boxster S, our team of Porsche-trained Technicians and Paint Specialists have restored and redesigned the car ready for its first race this month.
THE COMPETITION
Just over 20 years ago, the first Porsche Boxster was launched. Since then, the car has evolved over time and through various generations, remaining one of the most popular models within the Porsche range today.
The original Porsche Boxster 986 still has a loyal following of fans, so in conjunction with the anniversary of this car, Porsche Centres across the UK were invited to compete in the Porsche Classic Restoracing Competition. The team at Porsche Centre Chester were incredibly keen to be part of this challenge and immediately signed up to the competition, along with 15 other Porsche Centres. Having fully restored a Carrera 3.2 back to its former glory a few years ago, the team at Porsche Centre Chester have the knowledge and expertise to be able to restore Classic Porsche models.
RESTORING A CLASSIC BOXSTER
Cars in this competition will be judged on a range of criteria, including the mechanical restoration, paintwork and performance on the track.
