She is sweet. She is strong. And she is different from others. Meet Kajal Aggarwal – a strong believer of destiny who doesn’t shy away sharing secrets. She is the lady who’s very much clear of her principles and weaves them aptly into words. It’s all about revealing the unheard side of Kajal - know her like you’ve never before!
ex: Hello Kajal, how do you brief Indian cinema towards you - harsh and mean or sweet and supportive?
I am extremely grateful and overwhelmed by the love and acceptance I have received in South Indian cinema. Bollywood felt comfortable from day 1 considering Hindi is my language. I've always wanted to do meaningful cinema in any language and I've been selective about my scripts, keeping a balance of Hindi, Telugu and Tamil films. In totality, Indian cinema is in a great space and I'm very happy to be a part of it.
ex: Do you think you were destined for movies? Or was it always a planned career for you?
Destiny, yes, contributes a lot towards making me what I am today. After having graduated in bachelors of mass media, i suddenly got an offer to act in a film. I was a little hesitant in the beginning since it wasn't the planned choice of career. I thought I'd do one film and then pursue my MBA. After the first film, there was no looking back. I couldn't have been happier and this reinforced my belief in destiny.
ex: What do you believe has been the turning point in your career?
There have been different turning points in terms of stardom and recognition in all the three languages I work in. Telugu- my film Magadheera turned out to be a classic. In Tamil - Thuppaki shot me to instant relatable value making me a household name and in Hindi it was Singham that got me recognition. And I am sure I am looking forward for more such turning points in my life.
