These three fitness enthusiasts and their unique ways of staying fit (while also having a blast) are giving us all kinds of inspiration to get stronger for summer.
AARIFA BHINDERWALA
Aarifa’s journey in fitness began when she visited her sister in Perth to babysit her nephew. She signed up for a pole dancing class as a way to pass time. Soon enough, she realised she was a natural at it and more importantly, it made her feel great about herself. When she was advanced enough, she decided to teach. What began as classes she taught from her home, are now fullfledged sessions at The Space, Juhu. And the response has been incredible.
“As a workout, it’s so holistic that people feel great on many levels. Physically they feel stronger, and emotionally too. When you’re doing pole, you’re not just weight lifting (body weight) but you’re also doing cardio, gymnastics and calisthenics. But the best part is that it’s a form of dance, which is therapeutic.”
