If you Hate Me, I'll Delete you
Grazia|December 2016

She is among the highest paid top models, has millions of followers online, and has famous friends like pop star Taylor Swift. Karlie Kloss is the premier face of a new generation of leaders in fashion. But instead of remaining content with selfies and runways, she has decided to do more: This is the story of how it took a computer and a course in informatics to challenge the chauvinism and ferocity of the web

If you Hate Me, I'll Delete you

There is a catchphrase that circulates the Internet that says it all, “It’s Karlie’s world and we just live in it”. She is Karlie Kloss, 24 years old, someone for whom the definition of ‘supermodel’ is just a euphemism because she is in actuality a complete ‘super-girl’. Already standing tall, although somehow online, her numbers fly in different directions: 1.83 metres; no 1.84; sometimes even 1.88 metres. Either way, she’s very tall. She is slim like a top, toned like an athlete, elegant like a dancer. She was born in a small town in Missouri, and was discovered at 13 during a charity benefit, after which she flew to New York at 15 to start her modelling career, and became the face for the biggest fashion brands, the cover girl of infinite magazine covers, a student at Harvard Business school, philanthropist, and entrepreneur.

This is Karlie, someone who was added to Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people on the planet for her grit and her charisma, but also because she is able to move tastes, trends, and acquisitions. An example: One of her haircuts has become baptised as “The Karlie”, and is imitated by millions of girls.

Karlie, with the face of an angel and a stellar physique, is the perfect standard bearer of an entire generation of girls. All those who construct a future for themselves every day, perhaps not as famous, but certainly just as complex, and who use their body, heart and head, beauty, if it’s there, as an opportunity to be and become more.
