Music Moments

Spotify is not just a platform for people to discover music, but it has become a platform for many underground artists to share and monetize their music. Do you plan to increase your list of music aggregators to increase options for unsigned artists?

Although a global brand, Spotify is committed to the local music scene. We are continuously looking at ways we can support local music artists. As part of that commitment, we want to ensure that all content on Spotify is properly licensed. We work closely with both labels and aggregators to ensure that all content is legal and accessible for all our users globally.

Any artist can get their music up on Spotify through our various aggregators quickly and simply, which is critical to Spotify’s belief in offering a truly democratic music service to artists and users alike. We will continue working closely with these aggregators to ensure that artists are able to have their music discovered by fans from all over the world.

Many albums released in 1997 will be turning twenty years old this year. Would Spotify celebrate the anniversaries of the album release dates, as a way of further engaging with the audience?

We are always looking at ways to celebrate music and the content that is available on our platform. Spotify users are able to discover music, not just the latest hit, but we have playlists that would take you back to your high school days. From Daily Mix to Your Time Capsule, we have different ways of reminding you that moment in your life with a song from the past.
