It's been clear in recent months that Apple has been positioning its Beats brand as a less expensive alternative to its increasingly pricey AirPods. Available in four different colours, the Fit Pro costs £20 less than the previous top-of-the-range PowerBeats Pro. It also outguns the PowerBeats Pro with a more advanced design and the addition of active noise-cancellation features.
And, rather than the hook-over-the ear design, the Fit Pro opts for a more conventional in-ear design, with a flexible 'wing tip' that fits inside the ear to hold it in place.
Other aspects of the design have been updated too, with smaller earbuds that house a larger 9.5mm driver. Battery life is rated at six hours when using noise cancellation, with the charging case providing an additional three charges for a total of 24 hours. And, in a pinch, the earbuds' fast-charge option means a five minute top up in the case can give you a full hour of listening time.
