I hope everyone is keeping well and making the best of our last days of summer. With any luck, by the time you read this, my in-person craft markets will be back up and running in Holt Community Centre. If you’re local then come and see us on the first Saturday of the month.
I’m making plans for Christmas already. My big 100-stall artisan market is happening on November 29, in St Andrew’s Hall at Norwich, and is well worth a visit.

This month we are going to be upcycling cans into useful storage tins or planters. You can use this technique on a range of other materials too. Places like Hobbycraft, Poundland and The Works stock a range of affordable crafting blanks such as wooden boxes, three-dimensional letters and art canvases.
Equipment:
Washed cans
Sandpaper (optional)
White gesso acrylic paint or spray paint
Colored craft paint
An old tray
Cling film or foil
Something for the wet can to dry on
Hammer and a large nail (optional)
Mod Podge or another brand of sealant (optional)
