March marks the month of International Women’s Day and we celebrate the brands that go that extra mile to give back to communities and causes that help make this world a better place. Not only are they delivering amazing products, they’re also supporting the women of the world and giving back to those in need
THE BODY SHOP
Having already proven their dedication to sustainable and socially responsible practices with their cruelty-free and vegan products in particular, it’s no surprise that The Body Shop is sharing the love with their female employees. With 95 percent of their products containing ingredients sourced through their Community Trade programme, The Body Shop is supporting female communities all over the world and helping them find financial independence and empowerment. Thanks to their shea butter trade, The Body Shop has provided for over 600 women of the Tungteiya Women’s Association in Ghana with fair wage and a premium fund. The money earned from the production of shea butter is now not only benefiting the women, but the community as a whole, with the brand investing in projects in the area to provide safe water, medical centres and schools for approximately 46,000 people!
