They both come with impressive hardware and innovative software. And neither costs a bomb. But if you are looking for a great smartphone on a tight budget, which one should you go for? We put the Xiaomi Redmi note 3 and the YU Yunicorn in the ring against each other.
When it comes to brands that sell their phones mainly online, Xiaomi and yu are among the most prominent in the Indian market. Both brands have built a following on a simple principle - serve up a lot in terms of value at a relatively low price. So if you are looking for a phone in a budget of about Rs 12,500-13,000, it is hardly surprising that both brands have devices in that range - Xiaomi has the Redmi Note 3 while yu has the Yunicorn. But which one should you opt for? We try to figure that out for you.
Looks
These are two phones that are a blend of metal and glass. But there the similarity ends. While the Redmi Note 3 has a more curve-y design, the yunicorn is slightly more boxy with its straight sides. The Note 3 is incredibly compact and lighter than the yunicorn but we are giving this round to the yu device for its brushed metal back and chamfered sides which cut a smarter figure.
Winner: YU Yunicorn
