Nafeez Arav, the winner of Big Boss Tamil Season 1, is certainly the man of the moment. He has even captured the imagination of great filmmaker, Mani Ratnam.
It sure was a mystifying moment for Nafeez Arav when super star Kamal Haasan announced his name as the winner of Big Boss Season 1. It has been red carpet all the way for Arav ever since.
Big Boss was easily the most watched TV reality show by the Tamils all over the world. Statistics reveal that seven and a half crore Tamils watched the reality show which had set a benchmark of sorts, rather broken all previous TRP records of television viewing in the south.
By winning the title, it is not just the prize money of Rs 50 lakhs, but Arav has also achieved a dream-come-true recognition and instant stardom.
The exposure was overwhelming, and Arav insists that it has given him more visibility than he could have earned even after acting in 50 movies. Needless to say, he is the flavour of the season, what with being flash mobbed for interviews and invites.
The most defining moment was when Arav received a video call from Suhasini Maniratnam soon after the finale. Totally delighted, she invited him home to meet her family that she said watched the show in its entirety. For Arav, the experience of meeting Suhasini’s husband, the legendary director, Mani Ratnam, has been worth all the 100 days of trials and tribulations in the Big Boss house.
