The combination of the two musical geniuses, Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya, is as impactful as their compositions. Let’s listen in to the duo

Sachin and Jigar both found their way into music through twists and turns. Both had music in their blood, but their minds were somewhere else and needed a push. Unlike other people of their time who had to fight their families to pursue their interests, interestingly, the two got that push from within their families itself. Jigar starts, “I come from a typical Gujarati background where you either get into the family business or a white collared profession, like medicine, law or chartered accountancy. I had cleared my CAT to do my MBA, but on the day of my exam, there was this 41-year-old guy giving the same exam. I was 22 and shuddered at the thought of struggling in my 40s. I decided that day that I’d rather be in the music industry.”

“My father is a chartered accountant, so I was expected to pursue a degree in chartered accountancy to join my father’s firm. But whilst studying, I was doing theatre, television, and a lot of work had started pouring in. And, when I didn’t clear the final exams, my father felt I should consider music as a full-time occupation. Our families supported us at the crucial time. Fifteen years ago, when there were no Indian Idol and other such shows, it meant a lot of courage from our parents to have that vision. Even while everybody was saying they had wasted their children’s future, they let us identify and pursue our passion,” says Sachin gratefully.
