The Forever Ravishing Raveena Tandon

When you hear of the name ‘Raveena Tandon’, a lot of movie scenes and songs come to your mind. For me, it is the song Ankhiyon se goli mare from one of the most hilarious movies of Bollywood, Dulhe Raja. Sitting at Raveena’s office in her posh Bandra bungalow, the song runs constantly through my mind along with some comic scenes from Andaz Apna Apna. The chain of thought is broken by the National Award certificate for the movie Daman which saw Raveena in a completely different avatar. Now the scenes in my head are more from Maatr. As Raveena enters the room, there is no starry air that enters with her. With a smile of excitement and casualness in her body language, Raveena sits in front of me. I ask her about the National Award Certificate, as it is the first time I am seeing one.

“Actually, there is a medal also that comes with it, which Anil (Thadani) has taken to his office,” Raveena says. The moment she mentions her husband, I quickly remember that I have to wish her on completing 15 years of marriage earlier that week. “Thank you so much. It was fabulous. Anil and I just took off for the weekend to the deserts of Jaisalmer, stayed in tents and watched the stars over glasses of wine,” an elated Raveena shares.
