Whiz kid Madhan Karky is all about inventions, be it dishing up a new language, or writing dialogues and lyrics like you have never heard them before
MADHAN KARKY is in news again. After creating ripples with his invention of a new language, Kiliki, for the Kalakeya tribes in the movie Baahubali, Karky has launched a new portal called doopaadoo.com for independent music artistes. The launch honours were done by none other than the best in the Indian music industry, the wizard himself, AR Rahman.
Young Madhan Karky is probably the most sought after dialogue writer and lyricist of Kollywood today (after the living legend Vairamuthu, of course). The youthful artiste is already about 100 films old since he launched himself in the industry in 2010, he has won several prominent awards for his lyrics. A feat of sorts, considering he was pitted against the legendary Vairamuthu, whose overwhelming presence almost negates all others in the fray. It was even more precarious for him because Madhan Karky is Vairamuthu’s son!
Coming from an exhaustively academic and literary atmosphere at home, Madhan chose to be highly qualified himself. After a degree in computer science, he headed to accomplish his postgraduate studies and PhD in Information Technology at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.
“While I was doing my research in Australia, I had a lot of time and so I tried doing many things like I learnt Mandarin, worked at a restaurant as a chef, did babysitting and learnt photography. Amidst all this, I used to compose songs for my friends and wrote lyrics for ring tones,” says the talented man. This is where Karky realised that he could be a lyricist in the future.
