“A bit of writing and studying!” That’s how Shashank Arora describes a usual day in his life. The actor, who will be seen alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Nandita Das’ biographical drama Manto, is preparing to don the hat of a director. “I am going to be directing a series which will be streaming on a good platform soon. It’s been six years that I had last directed two short films. So you know the tools get rusted. That’s why I am going back to the basics of how to tell and structure a story,” he tells us. Although Shashank confesses that the whole process of being a director makes him cry as he has established himself as an actor and not a director. Hence, nobody seems to be taking him seriously on that front. But his love for cinema keeps him going.
