THERE’S SOMETHING charmingly old-school about face masks that come in jars. Sure, digging into tubs of cream or jelly and then smearing product across the face with one’s fingers might be less hygienic than those newfangled brush-tipped squeeze tubes, and lack the convenience and portability of a utilitarian sheet mask. But really, it takes less than five minutes to wash the hands before and after application, so the first point is moot, while for the second, well, there’s a reason why sheet masks are marketed for efficacy, not indulgence.
