In A Freewheeling Chat With Tina Thakrar, Ashish Thadani, CEO Of TI Absolute Concepts, Divulges The Story Of Combining Sports, Fitness And Hospitality To Create His Unique Cyclingthemed Cafe And Training Academy
From Absolute Home to Absolute Speciality to TI Absolute Concepts, Ashish’s Thadani’s career has spanned cities, industries and most importantly, multiple innovative ideas. The CEO of one of India’s most recognised names in hospitality, Ashish dabbles in real estate, food, sports and fitness through numerous initiatives under his one-of-a-kind firm.
Ambitious from the get go, Ashish moved around a lot during his childhood. However, the moves from Dehradun to Kankroli (near Udaipur), Ajmer and finally Delhi didn’t hamper the fact that his only aspiration was to become an entrepreneur. With his father in service, this objective literally involved plunging into the unknown, but Ashish was ready to face it all, challenges and achievements.Following through on his dream, he started a transportation and logistics business in 1992, with the purchase of one truck. By 1995, the company went from transporting steel to transporting automobiles for big names like Ford, Telco, M&M, Tata Motors and DCM Daewoo, validating all of Ashish’s hard work. Handling Ford India’s complete outbound logistics platform took him to Chennai in 1999, which opened up avenues for his future endeavours.
In 2007, backed by his wife’s strong knowledge of hospitality and management, Ashish took his first step in the hospitality industry in Chennai. The duo set up Absolute Homes as a means to provide serviced apartments to corporate travelers visiting Chennai. To delve deeper into hospitality and real estate, Absolute Homes joined hands with Ramaniyam Real Estates a few years later, and launched Grey Suit, a business hotel on the outskirts of Chennai.
