Usually, when a couple gets divorced, they don’t end up remarrying each other: But sometimes, it happens because second time’s the charm
Actress Elizabeth Taylor was famously married eight times, but she only had seven husbands. That’s because Richard Burton was both husband number five and six. While the rule book always gets thrown out when it comes to celebrities, the act of marrying, divorcing and getting hitched to a former spouse certainly isn’t limited to public figures.
“I Do” Times Two
Founder of Kew Organics and Sugar K Organic Peel Bar, Lily Kew, was only 25 years old when she first met David Ong, and their subsequent love story is one that is worthy of the screen. “I was at a disco, and you know how people say you’ll know exactly when you meet ‘The One’? Well, I really did have that moment because when David walked into the club that night, a beam of light fell over him and I knew instantly we would marry,” she reminisces.
Luckily, they had a bunch of mutual friends who introduced them, which resulted in a whopping seven years of courtship before they decided to tie the knot. Shortly after, she started her first beauty business. The year was 2004, and the toil of keeping her company afloat put a strain on her relationship.
“My business was in its infancy stage, so I put a lot of time into building it up from scratch, sometimes even sleeping at the shop. At the time, I assumed my husband was okay with this arrangement because he didn’t object,” Lily explains.
