Your wedding is one of the most important days in your life. So you, the star of the day, have to look your very best. Here’s a foolproof beauty programme to help you get there.
Growing up in a salon—my mother has been running one for over 30 years in Kolkata—I have heard almost all brides-to-be ask, “When should I start my pre-bridal beauty regimen?” and my mother’s advice has always been, “Now!” If your wedding date has been fixed, it’s best to start working on your regimen right away.
Prepare Well
It’s important to do your research and choose your grooming partners—a dermatologist, a make-up artist, a hair stylist, a nutritionist, and a fitness expert. Talk to people, take appointments, ask questions, do demos, and then select the experts who’ll be your beauty squad in the days leading up to your wedding.
Get the Basics Right
Mumbai-based celebrity dermatologist, Dr. Jaishree Sharad, opines that a bride-to-be’s goal should be to have radiant, even toned, and acne-free skin. To achieve this, you may choose to go in for skin enhancement and corrective treatments, but it is crucial to first have a skincare routine in place. Consult your dermatologist or aesthetician and let them put together a cleansing-toning-moisturising routine based on your skin type.
Keep these in mind while picking products for your regimen:
CLEANSE Choose a gentle facewash like Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser (825 for 75 ml), Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Face Cleanser (795 for 100 ml), and Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Extra-Mild (1,690). Use it once in the morning and again at night. Remember that overusing cleanser can dry out your skin.
