Lifestyle guru, author, mom and movie mogul Gwyneth Paltrow chats about living a healthy life, her love of Spain, and her new book on beauty.
Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, 44, grew up in Los Angeles with her younger brother Jake. Her parents are actress Blythe Danner and film producer Bruce Paltrow, so she’s always known life in the spotlight.
Following in her mom’s footsteps, Gwyneth made her acting debut in the 1989 TV movie High when she was 17. Since then, she’s gone on to star in feature films like Seven; Shakespeare in Love, for which she won the Oscar in 1999 for Best Actress in a Leading Role; and all three Iron Man movies.
In 2008, she launched a lifestyle website called Goop, which offers advice on how to live healthily and consciously, and focuses on everything from fashion and food to the best all-natural beauty buys. She’s also written and co-written several cookbooks, the most recent of which is It’s All Easy: Delicious Weekday Recipes for the Super-Busy Home Cook. Her new beauty book, Goop Clean Beauty, was written by the editors at Goop, with a foreword by Gwyneth.
She lives in LA with her two children, Apple, 12, and Moses, 10, and ex-husband Chris Martin lives just down the road.
On living well I love food and cook all the time, so I have to exercise like a fiend – you can’t have one without the other. Some days I enjoy it and some I don’t, but if I didn’t do at least 50 minutes of Tracy Anderson’s dance cardio five times a week, I wouldn’t fit into my clothes. If someone who’s a size four says they never work out and just happen to have a fast metabolism, they’re lying.
