It has been almost six months since I joined the Asian Tour and it is with great pride that my first announcement in my monthly column is to tell all of you that the Tour is back in China!
I’m very pleased that after many months of negotiation, building trust and forging plans with the China Golf Association (CGA), we recently announced a strategic partnership where we plan to launch up to four new tournaments in China this year and hopefully more from 2018 and beyond.
I’m very honoured to be given the opportunity to write a monthly column which will entail the success of our immensely talented members, the growth and development of the game and what sports fans can look forward to on the Asian Tour.
I’m indeed delighted to be a part of the Asian Tour and one of the reasons why I accepted the position as CEO was because of the huge potential that I see for the game in this part of the world.
With Asia being the focal point of the global economy, the opportunities for us to further grow the sport is very appealing, especially with sponsors and corporations utilising golf as a platform to promote and market their brands and services.
Recently, we extended our partnership with ECCO Golf and Fenix XCELL, two leading brands which we will continue to work closely with to develop more exciting activation for both parties.
