Scott Adkins Packs A Punch In New Movie Avengement
In Avengement, while on leave from prison, lowly criminal Cain Burgess (Adkins) evades guards and returns to his old haunts to take revenge on the people that made him a cold-hearted killer. It’s an epic, bloody battle to search for the soul he lost years ago on the streets of an unforgiving city.

Adkins tells us how he stays in such great shape and how he prepared for his latest film...

Scott, you’re known for your highly physical fight scenes. What is your typical training program?

I train for muscle mass, essentially looking good on camera, and practice martial arts. I do weight training three or four days a week. I used to do a bodybuilding style routine with a body-part split but now I prefer full body training. It feels less taxing on my body, and I feel like I can actually train more. I’ll start with legs and I try to hit different exercises for each body part, every session, to keep my body guessing.

I also train martial arts twice a week, drilling and hitting pads, with one or two yoga sessions for flexibility. I need my body to look a certain way on camera, but then I also need it to be functional for what I’m doing.

Did you mention yoga, is stretching important to you?
