Bold For Bolide

Few will argue that the Bugatti Veyron coined the name hypercar when it was launched in 2005. This immortal masterpiece of technology, with a top speed of 255mph, took the supercar rulebook and tore it to pieces. Besides the usual 0-60mph race, it invented an entirely new category of speed - the race beyond 248mph. In the following years, the challenge to eclipse the Veyron’s speed and pass the mythical 300mph has seen a few bespoke car companies – the type that makes a handful of cars a year - forge their reputation on providing their customers with the fastest car in the world! As far as a sale’s pitch goes, they rarely come bolder than that. “We asked ourselves how we could realize the mighty W16 engine as a technical symbol of the brand in its purest form – with solely four wheels, engine, gearbox, steering wheel and, as the only luxury, two seats.” – Stephan Winkelmann, Bugatti President.
