After a Miserable, Drama Filled Year of Being at Each Other’s Throats, Kim Kardashian Is Ready to Tell Kanye West That Their Marriage Is Over

On Dec. 18, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West headed to Santa Monica’s chichi Giorgio Baldi restaurant for a romantic dinner date — their first since his November breakdown — that was meant to double as a conspicuous show of unity. But the outing was a failure on both fronts: Not only did the pair look tense and disconnected as they exited the restaurant (below), a friend of the 36-year-old reality star says, “It was a miserable night. Kim said they hardly spoke two words to each other.”

For Kim, the terrible date only cemented her resolve to do something she’s been mulling for months: file for a divorce!

“She’s had the paperwork done for six months and is ready to have the locks changed at a moment’s notice,” another longtime pal reveals. Drastic? Perhaps. But given the year they’ve had, the pal says Kim feels she can’t be too careful. “She knows she’s not dealing with a stable person,” the friend says, citing the 39-year-old rapper’s Nov. 21 hospitalization for mental health issues. “She has to blindside him with the divorce because she doesn’t want the chaos of a real discussion about it. She says he actually scares her when he’s angry.”
