Dragons denied by last-gasp Sbarra

NEW boss Neal Ard-ley saw his Solihull Moors side salvage a share of the opening day spoils thanks to a last-gasp equaliser from Joe Sbarra – his second strike of the game.

It looked as though first half efforts from marquee summer signing Paul Mullin and David Jones would ensure the points headed back to north Wales but the diminutive midfield maestro had other thoughts and drilled home in injury time.

Ardley praised his two-goal hero and admitted that he thought his team deserved at least a share of the points.

He said: “I thought we were brilliant for the first half-hour. But then there’s a mix-up, a penalty and a worldy and you’re 2-1 down.

“I thought we were the better team and in control although when we were chasing the game towards the end we became a bit ragged.

“Joe has been outstanding throughout pre-season. Whatever system I’ve played and wherever I’ve put him he’s understood it so he’s deserved that today.”
