TALK about fox in the box – Banbury United have come up with a genius way to protect their pitch and raise money at the same time!

Loyal Puritans volunteer and amateur artist Roger Davis came to the club’s rescue this year with his creative touch.

The playing surface at the Spencer Stadium has been under attack since the summer from crows, inadvertently digging up the pitch to feast on Leatherjackets, the larvae of crane flies.

It has also coincided with an invasion of rabbits from the adjoining fields which has even led to Muntjac deer and badgers take to the pitch in the past.
