Fun Bus Gets Set To Roll Out One More Time
AS ENGLAND’S chariot spits and splutters its way home for the finale against Ireland, the ‘Fun Bus’ is ready to test whether the old engine’s still in working order after five years out of service.
Former RFU president Jason Leonard, England’s most capped player with 114 –plus five more for the Lions – will take to the field again to do battle for an England Legends side in the Friday night preliminary against their Irish counterparts at the Stoop.
While Friday’s game is about raising money for charity, Leonard does not expects Eddie Jones’ England to be giving away any freebies on Saturday.
The former Harlequins front rower backs them to end the Championship on a positive note and does not think defeat at Murrayfield and Paris will impact on momentum building towards Japan 2019.
Leonard told The Rugby Paper: “We lost a game in 2003 to France in the runup to the World Cup but it didn’t change anything.
“Everyone gets caught up with who’s No.1, but you don’t have to be the best team in the world for four years.
“You just need to be the best team in the world for four weeks.”
